Dumpster Rental FAQ
What size dumpster do I need?
For most single-room remodels or garage cleanouts a 10 or 15 yard is enough. A 20 yard is the most common choice for roof tear-offs and whole-home cleanouts. Larger construction, demolition or commercial jobs usually call for a 30 or 40 yard. Tell us about your project in the quote form and we'll help you pick.
What can't go in a dumpster?
Generally not allowed: hazardous waste such as chemicals, solvents, pesticides, oil and fuel; wet paint; car and household batteries; tires; asbestos; medical waste; propane tanks; and appliances that contain refrigerant (fridges, freezers, AC units) unless properly handled. Electronics (TVs, computers) are usually restricted in California as e-waste. Rules vary by hauler and landfill, so ask when you request a quote. Tulare County residents can usually drop off household hazardous waste at county collection events or facilities.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Visalia?
If the dumpster sits entirely on your private property, such as your driveway, a city permit usually isn't needed (check any HOA rules). Placing a dumpster on a public street, sidewalk or right-of-way generally requires permission from the city, such as an encroachment permit. Requirements and fees can change, so check with the City of Visalia before placing a container on the street. Other cities in the area have their own rules.
How fast can you deliver?
Same-day or next-day delivery is often possible depending on size and availability. Submit the quote form or call, and we'll confirm the earliest delivery window for your address.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
Rental periods vary. A typical rental covers several days to about a week, and longer rentals are usually available. Ask about your timeline when you request a quote.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes. Each rental typically includes a weight allowance, with extra charges if the load goes over. Heavy materials like concrete, dirt, brick and roofing shingles add up quickly, so mention them in your request and we'll recommend the right container.
Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
Roll-off containers are heavy. Drivers commonly place boards under the container to help protect pavement. Let us know about any surface concerns or tight access when you book.
How do I get a price?
Pricing depends on size, location, rental length and the type of debris. Fill out the quote form or call, and we'll get back to you with a quote for your project.
